DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

WIND FROM THE NORTHEAST BRINGS COOLER THAN NORMAL
TEMPERATURES TO THE AREA…OUR DRY SPELL CONTINUES…

Today has been a reasonably fair weather day with
cloud cover remaining at scattered or broken and
no precipitation measured since yesterday. A
northeasterly wind brings a sea-breeze which
has kept temperatures cooler than normal with a
high temperature so far of 75F, 5 degrees below
our normal maximum temperature for today of 80F.
Humidity has dropped since yesterday, with 100%
humidity being recorded on our hygro-thermograph through
a majority of last night. Since then, humidity has
dropped to about 70% where it has remained for a
majority of the late morning and early afternoon.
We continue our dry streak today, with no new
precipitation falling overnight, which brings our
monthly total to about 1.05″ below normal for the
month so far. This is a contrast to our higher than
average precipitation that we have experienced in the
earlier portion of this year.
