DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

COOLER TEMPERATURES AND CLEAR SKIES….

The temperatures at Great Blue Hill have dropped below normal
and are much colder than they have been over the past several
days. Yesterday, the maximum temperature reached was 26F, which
occurred right around the 1:00 P.M. EST observation. The
temperatures fell to a minimum of only 9F this morning, which
is the coldest temperature so far for the month of January.
This is 8F below the normal low temperature of 17F for this time
of the year. The winds are continuing to be blustery out of the
WNW to NW, and yesterday’s peak gust was 36 MPH out of the WNW at
4:33 A.M. Visibility has been excellent at 80 miles for most of
the day, and skies have been mostly clear with just a few
altocumulus clouds. The dry air could be a factor to this, as
dew points have been staying close to 0F.
