BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2016 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS FRIDAY AFTERNOON BRING 0.08 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION...PARTIAL UNDERCAST EARLY THIS MORNING APPEARS AS DENSE FOG BRIEFLY CLEARS...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SOME SUNSHINE AT MID-DAY TODAY... Light rain showers on Friday afternoon brought a total of 0.08 inches of measurable precipitation from 1 to 3 PM yesterday. The clouds of the last few days continued early today with dense fog shrouding the summit this morning. For a short time around the 7 AM observation the dense fog cleared away from the summit to the east and southeast to reveal a thick undercast with the top of the fog layer about one hundred feet below the summit. Later in the morning breaks in the overcast appeared that were large enough to provide some sunshine, though the clouds have moved back in this afternoon. There has been no precipitation so far today, though virga was briefly observed from a few clouds to the SSW at 1 PM. Visibility has been highly variable from 1/8 mile earlier to 35-40 miles to the south this afternoon. 7 A.M.
