DAILY DISCUSSION....11 A.M. 5/8/2001 The continued very dry weather pattern resulted in still another day with relative humidities dropping below 20%. A very, very low relative humidity of 13% was recorded at 5 p.m. when the temperature was 65 and dewpoint 14 degrees. The morning low temperature was 35 degrees for 5/7 and that is just 2 degrees above the record low for the date. Low temperatures of 23 at Norwood and 21 at Martha's Vineyard were among the very lowest in eastern Massachusetts reflecting the very dry air over us. The following is the complete summary of all the record high temperatures that we recorded last week: 5/1 - NEW RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 58 deg; previous record 57 in 1936. 5/2 - NEW RECORD HIGH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 92 deg; previous record 88 in 1930.
