DAILY DISCUSSION....2 P.M 7/24/2001

ONLY 2ND 90-DEGREE HEAT OF THE SUMMER SEASON TODAY...

A maximum of 92 was recorded right at  2 p.m....then wind backing to SSW and
gusting to around 30 mph seemed to be capping the temperature rise....
Temperatures reached the lower 90's here early this afternoon for the first 
time since
90 degrees on June 30.  Also, the highest temperatures are being recorded 
today
since 92 degrees on May 2-3.

SOME RECORDS POSSIBLE...

The warmest weather of the summer to date is expected over the next
few days so we've posted our record warmest temperatures for July
23, 24, and 25.....

THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES RECORDED FOR:

JULY 24 IS 96 IN 1987 AND RECORD HIGH MINIMUM 73 IN 1952
JULY 25 IS 94 IN 1963 & 1987 / HIGH MINIMUM 72 IN 1965

SUNNY BUT COOL JULY SO FAR....
