The light snow that began early Thursday evening was very fluffy with a very low water content. The melted amount for the standard gage was 0.17 inch for 3.6 inches of snow on the boards. This gives a ratio of 21 inches of snow for one inch of precipitation. The calendar day breakdown is: Thurs. 0.8 snow and 0.04 melted; and Friday, 2.8 snow and 0.13 melted. Thursday's maximum temperature of only 22 degrees made it the third coldest maximum temperature for this winter. A high of 18 occurred on December 8th and 21 degrees on December 28th.
